On Monday, June 29th at 4pm and 6pm EDT, Radio Sandy Springs will broadcast a 1 hour interview with WHO spokesman Gregory Härtl on the H1N1 `swine flu’ pandemic.
The interview, conducted earlier this week by Sharon Sanders of FluTrackers, is the latest in a series of high profile interviews on The Infectious Disease Show that may be heard online on Radio Sandy Springs.
Theses shows are archived, and you can listen to, or download earlier broadcasts in MP3 format.
- Last month, Sharon interviewed CIDRAP’s Dr. Michael Osterholm. The show may be listened to at 05/26/09 Guest Dr. Michael Osterholm.
- On May 18th Dr. David Fedson (Fedson On Meeting The Challenge Of A Pandemic ,FluTrackers Interview With Dr. David Fedson) was interviewed and it may be heard here.
- An earlier interview with Dr. Fedson, conducted on April 6th, may be heard here.
If you miss the live broadcast on the web, the archive is usually posted within 48 hours.
And of course, if you are really desperate for flu related interviews, my last two (low profile) appearances on the show were in February, which are archived here and here.

June 25: Sanofi has begun large-scale production of H1N1 vaccine at facilities in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania and France.

Sanofi Pasteur has begun large-scale production of the novel A/California/7/2009(H1N1) vaccine in our facilities in the United States and France.
Production of the vaccine will employ egg-based technology. The dosage requirements for the vaccine will be based on clinical trials expected to take place during the summer.
While developing our response to the novel A(H1N1) influenza strain, Sanofi Pasteur also maintains flexibility in our influenza vaccine production. The company continues to manufacture seasonal influenza vaccine for the 2009/2010 Northern Hemisphere influenza season as recommended by the WHO. Production of seasonal influenza vaccine for both Northern and Southern hemispheres is still a priority as seasonal influenza is a very serious illness, causing an estimated 250,000 to 500,000 deaths per year, according to WHO global figures.
