Saudi Arabia Announces 11 New MERS Cases

The  first MERS update under the management of the newly appointed Minister of Health in Saudi Arabia finally appeared in the wee hours of the morning (EDT), when around 3am (mid-morning Saudi Time) the MOH updated their  Coronavirus Page.

 

We are informed of 11 new cases, 4 from Riyadh, 6 from Jeddah, and 1 from the `Holy City’ – which I take refers to Mecca.

 

Ages range from 13 to 81, and of these 11 cases 8 are listed in intensive care, 2 are listed as `stable’, and 1 (age 13) is said to be asymptomatic.  Three cases are listed as Health Care Workers (1 in Riyadh, 2 in Jeddah).  No fatalities are reported in this release.

Within the framework of epidemiological investigation and ongoing follow-up by the Ministry of health to HIV (SK) causes AIDS Middle East MERS CoV respiratory, after briefing the Scientific Committee national infectious disease lab tests results and discussion of the cases, the Ministry recorded eleven cases of AIDS respiratory virus middle (SK).

  • The first citizen of the Riyadh region, 81-year-old suffers from several chronic diseases, receiving treatment in intensive care,
  • the second citizen of Riyadh at the age of 41 years, suffering several chronic diseases, in stable condition,
  • and the third woman from Riyadh, aged 59, is suffering several chronic diseases, and receiving treatment in the intensive care,
  • the fourth resident of Riyadh region working in the health field is the 34-year-old, mixing with a positive situation, and receive treatment in intensive care,
  • the fifth citizen of Jeddah, let a 13-year-old, mixing with a positive situation, and do not have symptoms,
  • and the sixth a citizen of Jeddah at the age of 71 years, has several chronic illnesses and receiving treatment in intensive care,
  • and seventh resident of Jeddah, 67, has a chronic disease and receiving treatment in the intensive care unit,
  • and eighth citizen of Jeddah health works 45-year-old, being treated in intensive care,
  • the ninth citizen of Jeddah province 55-year-old, has a chronic disease and receiving treatment in intensive care,
  • the 10th Saudi citizen of the Holy City, a 24-year-old, was in stable condition,
  • and the first citizen of Jeddah province 48-year-old, works in the field of health, receives treatment in intensive care.
