France: MOA Reporting 4 New Outbreaks Of HPAI H5N8

Since Monday the French MOA has announced 4 more farms affected by HPAI H5N8.


Gers, which leads now with 16 outbreaks, is the source of most of the new cases reported the past two days.

Since the last update on the situation on 5 December 2016 , new highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) subtype H5N8 were reported in Europe.

The total number of outbreaks and cases reported continues to increase and is now 406:

    including 245 in the wild bird,
    155 in farms,
    and 6 in the captive birds.
