Now that we are deep into summer, H7N9 case reports are down to a trickle.  But today the Hunan CDC reports (h/t Sharon Sanders on FluTrackers) a recent fatal case in Jishou City, Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, located in the western part of the Province.

Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture reported case of human infection confirmed H7N9 influenza cases. Mo certain patients, 48 years of age to receive waste for the industry, now living in Jishou City, a history of hypertension. Patients on August 9 incidence, 13th after the hospital died. Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture patient specimens by the CDC, Hunan Province CDC laboratory testing and review for the H7N9 influenza virus nucleic acid positive. 

Experts remind that at present, although the hot weather, people may still appear sporadic cases of influenza H7N9 infection, please the masses precautions.
