Referral: Effect Measure On Human Swine Flu In Pigs

# 3856

Yesterday, two of the big stories were the confirmation of finding the H1N1 virus in a pig in Minnesota, and the spread of the H1N1 virus among 14 hog farms in Norway.

As I pointed out yesterday, one of the concerns is that the virus could `reassort’ with other flu viruses yielding a new, or mutated virus.

Yesterday’s USDA announcement seemed more concerned, however, with reassuring the public that pork was safe to eat.

Today the Reveres at Effect Measure discuss the possible public health implications of the H1N1 virus (or any flu virus) spreading through swine herds.
