In what appears to be a community contact of a case reported from Al-Hafuf three days ago (see Saudi Arabia Reports 2 New MERS Cases), the MOH reports another case today from the Eastern Province oasis city.

Although close contact with camels is believed one of the ways that the MERS coronavirus is introduced into the community - once seeded - it is spread primarily from person-to-person, usually among family members or through nosocomial transmission at health care facilities (see  Dr. Tariq Madani: 97% Of MERS Cases From Human-to-Human Transmission).

Last week’s case from Al-Hafuf –  a 76 year-old man – supposedly had animal exposure.
