China: 1st H7N9 Case Reported From Liaoning Province

At a time of the year when H7N9 cases should be all but non-existent, this afternoon we've seen the 5th case announced out of China in just the past two days.

This time, it comes from Shenyang City, which is the capital of -  and largest city in - northeast China's Liaoning Province.  This is the first reported H7N9 infection we've seen from this province. 

The report, from the Liaoning Health and Planning Commission, was picked up and posted this afternoon by Biological100 on FluTrackers.

June 15, 2016, the province confirmed case of human infection of H7N9 cases. The patient, male, 67 years old, Tiexi District, Shenyang City, a retired worker. Currently, provincial and municipal experts best for treatment, vital signs are stable and yet; has close contacts and co-exposure medical observation and implementation of those samples tested, currently in good health, without exception.

After the outbreak, provincial and municipal plans immediately take such emergency measures, carry out epidemiological investigations, medical institutions to strengthen influenza-like illness and pneumonia of unknown causes monitoring.
