Although France was one of the latest Western European nations to detect H5N8 - announcing their 1st poultry outbreak just 13 days ago - they've been catching up in a hurry, adding six more outbreaks since yesterday's update, and adding a 7th affected department (Landes) in Southwestern France.
Today's report brings the number of affected farms to 25, more than doubling the number reported last Friday (n=12).
