Saudi MOH Reports 2 MERS Cases

After two days without reporting. the Saudi MOH has announced two new cases, with a sixth case from Buraidah increasing what appears to be a nosocomial outbreak.   Last week 4 older women (ages 63, 88, 87, 70) from Buraidah were listed as `Primary' cases, followed by a 5th case - listed as a secondary hospital contact - on Sunday.

Today a 6th case from Buraidah - a 72 y.o. female listed in Critical Condition is described as `Secondary (Health Care Acquired).

Additionally the MOH reports a primary case (indirect camel contact) in Jeddah, and the death of the first health care acquired case reported on Sunday.





In the first 9 days of 2017 the Saudi's have reported 11 new MERS cases (7 primary, 3 human contact, 2 camel contact), 7 deaths, and 4 recoveries.
