The recent surge in Saudi MERS cases continues with 4 more cases reported on this first day of Epi Week 6 - one listed as a primary community acquired case (no camel contact) from Riyadh - and and 3 more from from Wadi Aldwasir, which reported a cluster of community acquired cases last week.
Today's report includes what appears to be a second (household) cluster of cases from Wadi Aldwasir, and brings KSA's total to 2019 to 20 MERS cases. Details, however, are in short supply.
Meanwhile, 5 days ago the Ministry of Oman announced 4 MERS cases (with no details provided), and while we've not seen any updates since then, today the United Arab Emirates Embassy issued a cautionary statement via their twitter account to nationals living in Oman.
Whether this portends more news from Oman, or is simply a belated warning, is something we'll simply have to wait to see.
