Provincial end-of-day updates on H7N9 case counts are beginning to roll in, and so far 4 new cases have been announced, along with the death of a patient (Xu, female, 66 years old, farmer) from Zhejiang we learned about only yesterday.

Onset dates continue to advance into the middle of the month, and bucking the trend towards mostly elderly patients (see CIDRAP  H7N9 mystery: Why does age profile tilt older?), three of these four new cases are under the age of 45.

There are other affected provinces that haven’t checked in, but for now this tentatively raises the current totals to 95 cases (+1 asymptomatic child in Beijing), and 18 deaths.
