Saudi Arabia Announces 4 New MERS Cases (1 Fatal)

On the heels of this morning’s announcement of a new MERS-CoV infection in Dubai, this afternoon the Saudi MOH posted an update on their coronavirus page indicating that 4 new cases have been reported in or around Riyadh (h/t @Ironorehopper).

 

Details, as usual, are sparse.  It would appear that two of the cases are health care workers (ages not provided) who have mild or asymptomatic infections, while two others are citizens (ages 53 & 73) with a history of chronic illnesses.  The 73 year is reported to have died.

 

These are the first new cases announced by KSA since December 6th.

In the context of the work of epidemiological investigation and ongoing follow-up carried out by the Ministry of Health for the virus, "Corona" that causes respiratory syndrome, the Middle East, announced the Ministry of Health for the registration of four cases in Riyadh.

First and second Mqimitan working in the health sector, Mkhalttan to a confirmed case, and not have symptoms. The third citizen at the age of 53 years is suffering from several chronic diseases and receiving treatment for intensive care, asking God's healing for all.

The fourth case they are a citizen at the age of 73 years had been suffering from several chronic diseases, has passed away, may he rest in peace.
