Although it has yet to appear on the Egyptian Ministry of Health’s website, multiple medias sources across the Middle East are reporting on yet another H5N1 case in Minya – that of a 25 year old housewife. This comes on the heels of yesterday’s announcement from the Egyptian MOH: 4 New H5N1 Cases Reported.

After seeing only 4 cases during the first 10 months of the year in Egypt, over the past two weeks we’ve seen 8 cases reported.

This following article from dostor.org is typical of the reporting in the Arabic press today on the latest case.  Other media reports are available here, and here

I’ll update this post with a link to the MOH announcement, assuming they confirm this case.
