This afternoon we’ve seen rumors in the Saudi press (see below) that King Fahd hospital’s Emergency Department has been closed for several days due to an outbreak of MERS.
A charge that has been (at least partially) refuted on twitter by the Ministry of Health’s @e_mohcom account (see below).
Whatever the truth of the matter, today the Saudi MOH has announced the 4th MERS case diagnosed in Riyadh over the past week. As with both cases announced yesterday, and the one announced on January 30th, today’s case involves an ex-pat with none of the `usual’ exposure risks noted.
