Saudi MOH Announces 2 New Primary MERS Cases

#11,520

A bit frustratingly there's an added element of ambiguity in today's Daily MERS update, with the omission of the location of each case from the line listing.

We know from the map that two cases are reported, one from Riyadh and one from Ad Dawadimi (about 200 km  west of the capital city).

Both are listed as primary cases with (either direct or indirect) camel contact, and both are listed in critical condition, but we can't say which case comes from which city.

This appears to be a data entry problem, rather than a change in format (gender is entered twice for each case).

Over the past 8 months we've seen much better reporting from the MOH, including a weekly monitor report and improved accounting of asymptomatic cases, and so this is probably not a trend.
