The FAO has published the official notification of H5N6 detected in a wild common goldeneye (Bucephala clangula)  - sea duck that summers in the Taiga (northern boreal forests) of Russia, Canada, and Scandanavia, and migrates south for the winter.

I blogged about this finding earlier today (see South Korea: 2nd Detection Of H5N6, AI Suspected At Haenam Poultry Farm), based on a release from South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture (MAFRA).

This is the second detection of the virus in Korea (the first was in bird feces) announced in the past week, and suggests the virus is moving further down the Korean peninsula.
