France MOA: 200th H5N8 Outbreak In Poultry Farms Over Past 60 Days

#12,196

Although H5N8 arrived somewhat later to France's poultry industry than it did in other parts of Europe (see Dec 2nd's H5N8 Confirmed In Duck Farm In Tarn), over the past 60 days outbreaks have spread across their Southwestern Departments at a dizzying pace.
Today their MOA announces their 200th H5N8 outbreak in poultry.  This excludes dozens of LPAI outbreaks that have been reported in the same region over the past few months.
Despite prophylactic culling of more than 1 million healthy birds ordered in early January, the number of affected farms has more than doubled over the past month.
