So far this year, all of the suspected human cases of the H5N1 virus in Turkey have been reportedly negative. Villages were quarantined earlier this month in Southeastern Turkey, but his appears to be far removed from that location.
Obviously, until tests are run, we don't know if these are H5N1 infections. The wording of the first article indicates that suspicions run high. There are, however, many ILI's (Influenza-like Illnesses) that can mimic bird flu, and last month several children in Turkey died from pneumonia. We'll have to wait and see.

The two children were admitted to the central hospital of Burdor province in southern Turkey, and were placed under intensive observation, NTV network quoted medical sources as saying Friday.
Blood samples were taken from the two suspected cases and the results of the tests will be announced within 24 hours, the sources added.
In 2006 Turkey culled some 4.1 domestic fowls in an effort to contain the outbreak of H5N1, the fatal strain of the bird flu that killed four children. (end) ta.gb.
New bird flu outbreak in Turkey suspected
The governor of Burdur orders samples taken from a number of chickens that had died to be tested.
BURDUR - Two children from the southern Turkish province of Burdur were hospitalised Friday after possibly contracting avian flu.
The parents of the children, from the Aglasun district of Burdur took their one year old baby to a health centre after the child developed a high fever and told the doctor that their two children had eaten eggs from three chicken they had in their backyard.
Both children, the elder being three years old, were sent to Burdur state hospital where blood samples are taken to be tested bird flu.
Although bird flu has confirmed among poultry in few villages in southeastern Turkey, no human cases have been reported.
