After a flurry of new cases last week, we've heard little out of Egypt over the past few days.  While details are scant, this report has just hit the news wires.

Egyptian child, 2, tests positive for bird flu

CAIRO (Reuters) - A two-year-old Egyptian girl has tested positive for bird flu, becoming the 33rd human case in the Arab country, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Thursday.

A Health Ministry spokesman identified the girl as Fatmah Farouk Abdel-Gawwad from central Egypt, MENA reported.

The good news is, over the past 6 weeks, recovery of patients has been the norm.  Whether this indicates a change in the virus, or simply that people are seeking medical care sooner, is unknown.
