KUWAIT: A well known poultry company tried to smuggle 8,000 live chickens from Wafra, the first area in which bird flu appeared, to Amghara. Officials at the Public Authority for Agriculture said that the operation room at the Ministry of Interior reported to the committee that their patrol cars noticed a truck, owned by one of the private poultry companies, speeding on King Fahad Road yesterday evening.

Security men stopped the truck to find out if there were any chickens inside it. After the truck stopped, police found that there were 8000 live chickens inside it and it was coming from Wafra and heading to Amghara.

After the arrival of the concerned doctor in fighting bird flu, the marketing manager of the poultry company tried to delay the seizure of the truck and chickens in order to communicate with the company directors but the doctor and security men did not allow him to make the call.

Suddenly, the marketing manager assaulted the doctor and security men so he was taken to the Hadiya police station. A case was filed and the chickens were sent to the concerned authorities.
