Pandemic Video: American Red Cross

# 650

The American Red Cross has a pretty good overview of Pandemic flu in a video you can watch here.   It appears that you need a relatively fast connection to the Internet, and I doubt that a dialup connection will prove satisfactory.

This video is intended for the general public, and urges that we all become as self-sufficient as possible in order to ride out a pandemic. It recommends at least  2-weeks worth of food, water, and medicines in every home.   They also recommend masks and gloves for infection control.

The video explains why essential services, such as water supplies and electricity, could be interrupted.  And it explains the basic steps every household should take to become `flu ready'.

If you are a regular reader of this blog, or a visitor to flu forums, you probably won't learn anything new here.

This would be a good video link to send to people who doubt that a pandemic is a threat.   The American Red Cross has gravitas with the public, and if they are concerned, even some hard core skeptics might take notice.

A hat tip to Big Critter on the Wiki for finding, and posting this link.
