Egyptian Media: More Suspect Cases

# 882

Egyptian media occasionally reports on suspected H5N1 cases, but it doesn't happen often.  When they do, our dedicated newshounds translate the reports from Arabic to English, and then post them on the flu forums.

One of the hardest working of these newshounds is Theresa42, who can be found on the Wiki, Flutrackers, and the CE.   She not only finds, and translates these articles, she has an uncanny ability to deduce what they mean.

The following article, posted by Theresa42, indicates that 8 new suspect cases have been hospitalized in Egypt, including a mother and her 5 children.

At this time, we have no confirmation of positive H5N1 tests on any of these cases, and in the past, we've seen suspect cases turn out to be something other than bird flu.

Nevertheless, with two recent cases in Egypt, suspect cases are worth watching, particularly any that might suggest a cluster.
