BBC Video : Pandemic

# 1092

It's a thankfully slow news morning on the avian flu front, with most stories concentrating on the culling of 160,000 geese in Germany or on the latest fatality in Bali.

Over the weekend I did run into a video, produced by the BBC, on pandemic influenza.   It requires a broadband connection, and 90 minutes of your time, but  the HORIZON: Pandemic  video is worth a look.

With commentary by such luminaries as Greg Poland, of the Mayo Clinic, and John Oxford, professor of virology at Queen Mary's School of Medicine in London, this docu-drama carry's some gravitas.

This is a dramatization, and as such, contains a good deal of speculation about how the next pandemic will play out.
