A Slow Start To The Weekend

# 1116

A mercifully quiet Friday morning, with little to blog about that hasn't been covered by other bloggers.   Rather than re-invent the wheel, a couple of referrals.

First, Scott McPherson has coverage of local media reports of a Tamiflu Blanket being applied on an island in Indonesia.   An illness, which officials are calling Typhoid, has swept thru that area.

Complicating matters, poultry reportedly began dying on the island with symptoms similar to bird flu shortly before the illness erupted.  Now authorities are supposedly providing every resident with Tamiflu . . . which isn't something you'd give for Typhoid.

Scott, as always, has excellent coverage of this story.

Also this morning, the Reveres at Effect Measure have a blog on the effectiveness of Chlorination for killing the H5N1 virus.
