24 Hours Later

# 1233

Thus far, Xinhua news has been the only English language news service I've seen carrying the report of the Korean national, visiting Vietnam with his wife, who succumbed to was is suspected to be bird flu.

His relatives report that the man's father, back in Korea, is suffering from similar symptoms.

Now, 24 hours after that report, we have heard nothing new.

Many details, such as this man's travel schedule, how long he'd been in-country, and any confirmation of H5N1 infection are all absent.

There are, apparently, reports in Vietnamese circulating, but the newshounds on Flutrackers are having difficulty with the translating software timing out.   Whether these reports contain anything new, or are simply rehashing what we've heard before, is unknown.

Hopefully we'll get an update later today.  But for now, this report raises more questions than answers.
