Scott McPherson On IT Risks

# 1460

Back in the late 1970's, through the 1980's and the 1990's I was a full fledged geek.  I was a codeslinger,  proficient in a dozen languages (all obsolete today), and a  handful of operating systems (all gone, too).

It was a nice two-decade run.

Alas, it's been nearly ten years since I wrote a serious application program.  Technology has passed me by.  At best I'm a semi-geek today.

Luckily Scott McPherson continues to be the real deal in IT (Information Technology), as his position as the CIO of the Florida State Legislature attests.  Scott is a bona fide expert in all things geeky.

So when Scott warns of the dangers of an IT meltdown in a pandemic (or other crisis), we would do well to listen.

Read  Why telecommuting will probably fail in a pandemic, Vol. 2

I'd write more, but I'm busy downloading from the net while I still can.
