Nearly two months after detecting the H5N1 bird flu virus for the first time, Nepal is still dealing with sporadic outbreaks in poultry.

With India bordering on their south and west, and with China to their north, and separated from Bangladesh by a narrow 20 km wide strip of India called `The Chicken Neck',  Nepal is literally surrounded by bird flu affected nations.

Despite early reports to the contrary, Nepal has reported no human infections from the virus.
