The time has come for me to make my annual trip back to Missouri to see my Lyme Specialist, and so AFD probably won’t see any updates until next weekend (April 26th).
My access to the Internet will be limited for the next 7 days, but when I can get online, I’ll be checking Crofsblog, along with the current news threads at FluTrackers and the Flu Wiki for the latest information on avian influenza.
I heartily recommend that my readers do the same.
Also check Maryn McKenna’s excellent blog Superbug for the latest information on MRSA, and Joel’s blogs on Preparedness and Response.
Meanwhile, I’d like to thank all of the visitors to this site over the past year. As you can see from the cluster map below, you’ve come from all over the world – and many have returned again and again.
This is the April 18th Clustrmap for AFD. Each year the map is wiped clean to keep it from becoming one giant red smudge. The map was reset today, April 19th.
Over the past 12 months I’ve had visits from 150 countries and territories. But in reality, roughly 70 countries make up 98% of my visitors.
Not bad for a specialty blog.
Many of my readers come from universities, medical facilities, corporations, and government agencies from around the world.
So if you read this blog, you are in good company.
I’m particularly gratified when I get emails from my readers, and appreciate it anytime a reader takes time to write. Through this blog I’ve been lucky enough to have made friends all over the world.
This blog isn’t just the product of my work, it comes about mostly due to the hard work of reporters and internet newshounds from around the world. I am also lucky enough to receive wise counsel and support from dozens of friends and colleagues.
Thank you one and all.
