Tangerang is a city in Banten, Indonesia located about 20 km west of the Jakarta which has seen a good many avian flu cases, both in poultry and in humans.
Still, complacency over the bird flu threat seems to be rampant in Indonesia, and organizations like CARE are working to change that.
Today we have a short video showing how members of the CARE Team in Indonesia are spreading the avian flu awareness message.
Rallies and parades are a cost effective way to spread the word, and I’ve no doubt that this one brought some badly needed attention to the issue.
Proving you can sometimes do a lot, with just a little community involvement.
CARE is one of a number of NGO’s (Non-Governmental Organizations) doing humanitarian work all over the world. They rely on private donations to carry their work to developing nations.
