For the 4th time in the past 18 days we have a new notification to the World Health Organization of an H5N1 infection by the Egyptian Ministry of Health.

Today’s announcement marks the 12th reported infection for 2011, and the 5th fatality.

My thanks to Lisa at CIDRAP for the heads up on this.
