After a three-day span that saw the number of new H7N9 cases surge by roughly 50%, the number of new cases reported this morning has dropped off considerably.

While welcome news, it is far to soon to say whether this represents a trend.

We saw an earlier report of a single case in Jiangsu Province, and now we have a single case in Zhejiang.  Additionally, Shanghai announced no new cases today.

This from the Zhejiang Health Department.

The next announcement from Shanghai is notable for two reasons; because no new cases were reported and because testing seems to be having difficulty finding the virus among local poultry or their environment.
