The updates are coming a little bit later each day, but we are informed of 13 new cases, and two deaths (bringing the total to 9). While the Korean media has made much of the relatively low fatality rate, MERS cases often succumb after a week or two of illness, so trying to assign a fatality rate at this point in time is somewhat futile.
Ten of today's cases which emanate from the the hard hit Samsung Medical Center in Seoul. The other three cases are divided between Konyang hospital (2) and Sacred Heart Hospital (1).
Thus far, all of the cases reported appear to be linked to hospital exposures. Once again, my thanks to Sharon Sanders of FluTrackers for collaborating with me on these case breakouts.
