Of interest to primarily to public health officials and clinicians, yesterday the CDC published more than 4 hours of webcast recordings from July's 2-day workshop Clinical Evaluation & Management of Infants with Congenital Zika Infection.

Pregnant women in the United States, DC, and US territories have laboratory evidence of Zika virus infection. Infants with birth defects have been born to women who had Zika infection during pregnancy in the US states. Guidance on appropriate care and support is needed to better prepare communities to support these vulnerable infants and families.
- Review what is known and not known about congenital Zika virus infection
- Discuss clinical evaluation and management of infants with congenital Zika virus infection, including those with microcephaly as well as those born with Zika virus infection but without problems apparent at birth.
During this meeting, pediatric health specialists, non-governmental partners, and federal officials gathered at CDC to discuss clinical evaluation and management of infants with congenital Zika virus infection in the United States. CDC considered these discussions on clinical evaluation and management into consideration when developing interim guidance for health care providers.
