Today via China's MOA we learn that Beijing has become the 20th Chinese administrative region to report an outbreak(s) of African Swine Fever, and that Inner Mongolia is reporting their first recurrence of the virus in the past 60 days.
Two translated reports, first from Beijing, a report of two outbreaks.

The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was released on November 23, and the Fangshan District of Beijing Province detected the African swine fever epidemic.
At 9:00 on November 23, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center and was diagnosed by the China Center for Animal Health and Epidemiology (National Center for Animal Disease Research).
Qinglonghu Town and Liulihe Town, Fangshan District, Beijing. Each farm has an African pig plague. Up to now, a farm in Qinglonghu Town has 1325 pigs and 49 deaths; the Liulihe Town Farm has 429 pigs and 37 deaths.
Immediately after the outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sent a steering group to the local area. The local government has started the emergency response mechanism as required, and adopted measures such as blockade, culling, harmless treatment, disinfection, etc., to treat all the sick and culled pigs harmlessly. At the same time, all pigs and their products are prohibited from being transferred out of the blockade, and pigs are prohibited from being transported into the blockade. At present, the above measures have been implemented.
And Inner Mongolia today reports their first outbreak since late September:

The Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released on November 23, and the Kundulun District of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, detected the African swine fever epidemic.

A farmer in Kundulun District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Arrange the African swine fever. Up to now, the farmer has kept 88 pigs, with 69 cases and 53 deaths. As we discussed last week in MOA Joint Statement On `Very Serious' Spread Of ASF, this unprecedented spread of African Swine Fever risks turning into a genuine national security issue for China, and the MOA and the Ministry of Public Security are adopting a hard line stance on enforcement of biosecurity rules and regulations.
But whether any of these steps can slow this virus - which as has spread across much of Eastern Europe & Russia over the past decade - remains to be seen. For their part, the FAO does not appear to be particularly sanguine.
