Saudi MOH: Another MERS Case In Riyadh
#13,814
As we discussed yesterday, the Saudi capital of Riyadh has reported an uptick in community acquired MERS cases over the past week, with 5 new infections reported in the past 7 days.
Four of those cases have fallen in Epi week 4 (see below), and one late in Epi Week 3, with the latest one involving an 83 y.o. male. All 5 cases have been male, and none report recent camel exposure.
Since we explored the topic of asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic cases potentially spreading the virus at considerable length in yesterday's blog, I won't bother rehashing it again today.
Needless to say, we'll be watching closely to see if this uptick continues.
