#13,919

Since late January, Wadi Aldwasir has reported 53 MERS cases - including 38 secondary cases - acquired from contact with an infected human (household contact, healthcare acquired, etc.).
The bulk of those cases occurred in February, but today's report is the third case from Wadi Aldwasir this week (Epi week #10).
Details of today's case are scant, with little more than age, location, and gender provided.  The case classification is currently under investigation.

This is the 11th case reported by the Saudis for Epi Week 10, and the 95th case of 2019.  While we've seen no signs of sustained or efficient transmission of the MERS virus in Saudi Arabia, this is the fastest start we've seen in two years.
