Although there have been media reports indicating that the World Health Organization is in contact with Chinese officials regarding the recent outbreak of unidentified pneumonia in Wuhan City, China - around 0030 hrs EST this morning the World Health Organization Western Pacific Twitter account issued the following 3-part announcement.
This is, as far as I can tell, the first public announcement by the WHO on this outbreak. Other than the series of tweets, a visit to the WHO WPRO website doesn't reveal any additional information at this time.
