WHO WPRO Twitter Announcement Of Japan's Coronavirus Detection
#14,660
The World Health Organization decided years ago to release preliminary outbreak information quickly via twitter, and as we've seen with Ebola, Avian Flu, and MERS in the past, the WHO is using this platform to respond to the flood of breaking events surrounding the 2019-Novel Coronavirus outbreak as well.
Although no official Disease Outbreak News (DON) statement has been released, a couple of hours ago the WHO's Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO) unleashed a 7-tweet barrage on Japan's recently announced detection (see MOH Statement On Japan's 1st Detection Of Novel Coronavirus (ex China))
If you aren't following the WHO main account @WHO or the numerous regional accounts - like @WHOPRO or @WHO_Europe - you should definitely consider doing so
