Amid ongoing (and impossible to verify) chatter in the dissent Chinese press of other suspected novel coronavirus cases outside of Wuhan City, along with media speculation on possible intermediate animal hosts for this virus, we have a `status quo' update from the Wuhan City Health Commission, citing no new cases, no discharged patients (or deaths), in the past 24 hours.

While China has performed a remarkable and admirable feat in publishing the draft gene sequence for this novel coronavirus - which has enabled more accurate laboratory testing - they have been far less forthcoming when it comes to epidemiological data on the 41 known patients.
The internet abhors an information vacuum, and will quickly rush to fill it with whatever it can muster. Some of it is even plausible. It is probably safe to say that no one - not even the Wuhan Health Commission - has a complete handle on the scope and the spread of this outbreak. And that is reflected in the cautious reactions we are seeing from the World Health Organization, CDC, and other public health entities.
Which means it is still too soon to even begin to guess where this outbreak goes. For now, all we can do is pick our information sources carefully, and take everything with a grain of salt.
Stay tuned.
