Hong Kong Adds 7 More Locally Acquired Coronavirus Cases

Earlier today in  HK Confirms 3 New Coronavirus Cases - 2 From A Large Family Gathering, we learned that the CHP was testing 9 other family members who also attended this event, and 7 of them had initially tested positive.
We now have confirmation that those 7 are now  confirmed cases, bring the number of new locally acquired cases reported today by Hong Kong to 10. 
This updated report included the 3 cases reported earlier. 

New pneumonia diagnoses increased to 36

The Centre for Health Protection announced that as of 8 pm today, the Centre is investigating ten new confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection, with a total of 36 confirmed cases in Hong Kong .

The first case was a 24-year-old man with good health. He lived in Hung Fuk Building, 356-362 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai. He developed fever and cough on January 30, and sought treatment from a private doctor on the same day, and then from another private doctor on February 4.

The patient went to the outpatient department of St. Paul's Hospital on February 6, and went to the Accident and Emergency Department of Ruttonjee Hospital yesterday to be admitted to the hospital for isolation treatment. The condition is stable.

In response to the epidemiological investigation of this case, the CDC tracked eight other confirmed cases involving three family groups, all of which were family members and relatives of the first case.

The first family group was the male patient's father (68 years old), mother (57 years old), and grandmother (91 years old); the second family group was the male patient's third aunt (51 years old), cousin (25 years old), and Cousin (22 years old); the third family group was the fourth aunt (50 years old) and cousin (23 years old) of the male patient. Each was treated in isolation at Ruttonjee Hospital and Madam Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.

According to a 24-year-old male patient, he did not travel outside the incubation period. He and 18 relatives, including the eight confirmed cases, ate hot pot at the Lento Party Room in Kwun Tong last month. Two of them still have symptoms and are being treated at the Prince of Wales Hospital.

The remaining confirmed man is a 70-year-old man with a long-term illness and lives in Caifeng Court, Niuchi Bay. He had cough, chills, and shortness of breath since January 30, diarrhea on February 1, and consulted two private doctors successively from February 1 to 7. He had yesterday with cold and shortness of breath The United Christian Hospital sought medical treatment and was admitted to the hospital for isolation treatment. The condition is stable.

According to the patient, he did not travel outside during the incubation period, staying mainly in his home and his son's home in the same building. The close contacts of the patient, including his wife, son, daughter-in-law, grandchild, granddaughter, and domestic helper, have no symptoms and will be arranged for quarantine.
