#14,848

Hong Kong has announced 7 more locally acquired coronavirus cases, including 3 relatives of the woman who lived in the same apartment building as Hong Kong's case #12.  That apartment building has been evacuated, and all residents are being tested.
The 4th case is a contact of one of the members of the Family Banquet cluster, becoming the 12th person in that group. Lastly, three other cases ( including two who lived together) are reported without travel outside of Hong Kong or known exposure to other cases.
Over the past 3 days Hong Kong has reported 23 locally acquired cases, raising concerns over the community spread of the virus.

There are seven new cases of new coronavirus infections in Hong Kong, all of which have no travel history and are local infection cases. The cumulative number of confirmed cases has increased to 49.
Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Centre for Health Protection, said at a press conference today that the seven new confirmed cases were partially related to earlier cases, including the sons and daughters-in-law of the lower-level residents of Kangmei Building, Changkang Village, Tsing Yi, and their fathers. There were parties during the Chinese New Year.
The other patient was a colleague from one of the 19 patients who had been diagnosed at a family gathering earlier. He was engaged in cleaning. He had a cough on February 1 and was diagnosed with infection after visiting Ruttonjee Hospital.

In addition, a 59-year-old man who was in charge of ministry at the Shi En Church of the Methodist Church of Siu Sai Wan was diagnosed with the disease. He began to have fever, cough, and shortness of breath on February 2. He wore a face mask during work and participated in church meetings and group activities. The CHP will track relevant contacts.

The remaining two cases were 71-year-old and 66-year-old male patients who lived in Po Lam Village and Tuen Mun, Tseung Kwan O respectively. They went to Tseung Kwan O Hospital and Tuen Mun Hospital for medical treatment, and neither had travel records.

The Center for Health Protection has a special webpage that provides relevant information and health advice. It is updated online at 9 am and 6 pm daily to receive the latest information on reported cases, which further improves the efficiency of issuing infection cases.
