This is turning out to be a big morning for COVID-19 news out of Japan, between the U.S. Embassy's announcement on the evacuation of passengers from the Princess Diamond, news of the State of Hawaii's investigation into a Japanese tourist who was diagnosed after returning home, and 3 more cases linked to the Wakayama Prefecture hospital cluster.
In addition, we are awaiting details of more community acquired cases in Tokyo.In the meantime, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases aboard the Diamond Princess continues to rise (n=285), and for the first time, we are learning that roughly 25% of those lab-confirmed cases are asymptomatic.

The cruise ship Diamond Princess, which arrived at Yokohama Port on February 3, is undergoing quarantine at sea, but due to its long-term stay on board, it is considered high risk from the viewpoint of ensuring health.
