Japan MOH: 12 More Domestic COVID-19 Cases

Japan's domestic COVID-19 case reports (excluding Diamond Princess cases) continue to climb steadily but we have yet to see the kind of explosive growth in cases that we've seen in places like South Korea, Italy, and Iran.  

Whether, and for how long, that luck holds remains to be seen. 

Outbreak of patients related to new type coronavirus (128-139 cases)

Today (February 24), 12 patients and one confirmed positive person (investigating the presence or absence of symptoms) of this new type of coronavirus related infectious disease from Ishikawa, Hokkaido, Kanagawa and Tokyo We will report as follows (3 out of 12 patients were confirmed positive cases published on the 22nd, but since details were found, they were newly added as patients).
With this announcement, there are 156 domestic cases of infection (139 patients, 16 asymptomatic pathogen carriers, and 1 confirmed case).
We will carry out proactive epidemiological investigations on this matter, including the identification of close contacts.
