Italy: MOH Announces A 50% Increase In COVID-19 Cases (n=1577)



UPDATE & CORRECTION
Apparently the total being touted by the MOH (n=1577) is after deducting those who have been cured (n=83) and those who have died (n=34).  If you add up the numbers presented by location, you get 1,694 cases.

Over the past 24 hours Italian public health officials have identified and additional 528 COVID-19 cases - the largest one day total to date - bringing nation's total to 1,577. All but 3 of those cases have been identified in the last 10 days.
5 additional deaths (n=34) have also been announced. 
 Roughly 40% of all cases are hospitalized, and 22% of those are in intensive care.

In the field of health monitoring related to the spread of Coronavirus on the national territory, at the moment 1577 are the people who test positive for the virus.

83 people have been healed.

The number of people infected in the individual regions is as follows: 984 in Lombardy, 285 in Emilia-Romagna, 263 in Veneto, 49 in Piedmont, 25 Marche, 25 in Liguria, 17 in Campania, 13 in Tuscany, 9 in Sicily, 6 in Lazio, 6 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 5 in Abruzzo, 3 in Puglia, 2 in Umbria, 1 in Calabria and 1 in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.

There are 639 patients hospitalized with symptoms, 140 are in intensive care, while 798 are in home isolation.

34 have died, however this number can only be confirmed after the Istituto Superiore di Sanità has established the actual cause of the death.
