CDC COCA Call Weds (Dec 30th): COVID-19 Vaccines - Allergic Reactions, Contraindications, and Precautions

#15,660

The week between Christmas and New Year's is traditionally a pretty slow time of year for public health blogging as most journals don't publish papers during the last two weeks of December, and many public health agencies are short staffed for the holidays.

This year, however, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the equation, and so we get a rare holiday COCA call from the CDC later this week, dealing with the continued rollout of the pandemic vaccine.

These presentations typically run about an hour and are often technical. They are of greatest interest to clinicians and healthcare providers, but also may be of interest to others. Those unable to watch live can access the archived video, usually within 24 hours.

COVID-19 Vaccines: Update on Allergic Reactions, Contraindications, and Precautions

Overview

During this COCA call, clinicians will give an overview of recommendations for use of COVID-19 vaccines in certain populations. Clinicians will learn more about the recent reports of anaphylaxis following vaccination, as well as CDC’s updated clinical considerations around contraindications and precautions to vaccination.
