Finland Adds 2 More Fur Farms To H5N1 Affected List (n=12)

While we don't have any official announcement, the Finnish Ruokavirasto website has updated their list (see below), which added 2 new farms today (July 21th), bring the total number of farms testing positive to 12.

According to the Finnish Fur Breeders Association, there are `. . .  581 member farms operating in Finland in approximately 600 locations, and most of them are family businesses. 95% of Finnish fur farms are located in the Ostrobothnia region'.

Investigations are reportedly underway in a number of additional farms, but the list as of today (Friday July 21st) reads:   

The last WAHIS update indicated that there were nearly 120,000 susceptible animals being raised on the first 10 farms.  At this point there is no word as to the size of the new newly added farms.
