California: 7.0 Mag Earthquake - Tsunami Warning Issued

While there aren't many details available yet, a 7.0 Magnitude, relatively shallow (8 miles), earthquake occurred off the Northern California coast late this morning local time.  This was, fortunately, in a sparsely populated area of the state, but the potential for a small tsunami is a concern. 


Aftershocks are likely, and there is always a slim possibility (usually about 5%) that this could be a foreshock, and a stronger temblor could occur in the next few days.
