I've lost count how many times I've featured a Helen Branswell story in this blog, but it must run into the hundreds. She was, quite simply, one of the most prolific and capable infectious disease reporters in the world.
Her loss, and legacy, are detailed in the STAT obituary, published yesterday.
While I never got to meet Helen, we corresponded a number of times. Sometimes to share information, other times less formally. She was exceptionally kind to this humble blogger, and I am saddened - and Flublogia is diminished - by her passing.
