Fujian Province: 1 H7N9 Case Reported

Although we’ve only seen a handful of H7N9 cases reported this fall, the past couple of weeks have produced reports from Zhejiang, Guangdong, and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.  Today, from the Fujian Provincial Department of Health we get the following brief report:

 

H7N9 confirmed cases in the province reported one case of human infection

H7N9 Fujian Province reported one case of confirmed cases of human infection.

Yemou patient, male, 27 years old, currently living in Fuqing City.  December 3 confirmed human infection of H7N9 confirmed cases, patients present with severe illness, isolation and treatment hospitals in Fuzhou.

 

Previously, Fujian province had reported 22 cases of H7N9 over the first two waves.   This is their first report of the 2014-15 winter season.


Last year, we saw a smattering of H7N9 cases in November and December, and a huge increase during January and into February.
