Japan MAFF: 44th Farm Outbreak of Classical Swine Fever (Nagano Prefecture)

The recent uptick in Classical Swine Fever in Japan continues, with the 4th farm outbreak reported over the past 6 days (see here, here & here).
It took nearly 6 months for the first 10 outbreaks to be detected, but over the past 7 months we've seen that number more than quadruple, and the virus expand into four additional prefectures.
Today's report from MAFF follows:

Confirmation of pseudo-affected animals of pig cholera in Nagano Prefecture (44th case in Japan)

Today, a pseudo-disease of pig cholera was confirmed on a farm in Takamori-cho, Shimoina-gun, Nagano Prefecture, which had been monitored in accordance with the occurrence of the first case in Japan.
We will make every action to prevent the disease.
We ask for your cooperation in conducting on-site interviews, such as the possibility of causing the spread of this disease.
1. Overview of the raised farm
Location: Takamori-cho, Shimoina-gun, Nagano Prefecture

2. History
  • On Tuesday, September 17, Nagano Prefecture conducted an on-site inspection by livestock protection personnel after receiving reports from a farm that a pig was abnormal.
  • On the same day, a suspected examination of swine cholera occurred at the Livestock Health Office, and a thorough examination was conducted today (Thursday, September 19) and it was found to be a pseudo-disease of pig cholera.
